Congratulations to Amer El-Gozali and Sophie Davies in our UK team, who have both recently completed their technical apprenticeships programmes with us. Not only that, but Amer has also been nominated as a finalist by his provider for an ‘Apprentice of the year’ award, and Sophie has been awarded ‘Apprentice of the month’ by her provider.
Amer El-Gozali is one of our Service Contract Engineers who recently moved into a full-time role with us after successfully completing his Level 2 Telecoms Field Operative Apprenticeships with a distinction. He joined us 18 months ago and has learnt all aspects of fibre management by undertaking an apprenticeship programme which consisted of 40% learning and 60% practical experience working on-site with engineers. Not only that, but he also gained top marks at his end point assessment which comprised a practical demonstration and professional discussion, which is a fantastic achievement all round.
The apprenticeship which he undertook with the provider ESP – The Education & Skills Partnership, meant that Amer successfully learnt about the broad role of a Telecoms Field Operative (TFO), which is to build, provide or repair telecom services for commercial or residential customers on the UK’s National Telecom Access Network.
Sophie Davies, who is based within one of our long-standing client service contracts, has also successfully completed her Network Cable Installer Level 3 Apprenticeship. Sophie is a shining example of someone who has excelled in such a short period of time, having only been with us for just over a year. Sophie has gained top marks in both Copper and Fibre City and Guilds qualifications having learnt about health and safety, copper and fibre optic cabling, network equipment handling, rigorous testing protocols, project management, strategic network design and effective quality management.
Her training provider, VQ Solutions, recognised her dedication and commitment and awarded her the Apprentice of the month for September.
Andrew Fraser, our Service Contract Manager, who direct line manages the duo commented:
“I’m so happy for Amer and Sophie who have both shown fantastic commitment to their learning and development by undertaking their Apprenticeship programmes. They have both worked impressively, learning theory and practical on-the-job experience, and as a result have excelled at their end point assessments. They deserve the recognition and praise for their achievements and hard work. The fact that they are both fully embedded into the Splice team as full-time employees, is a quality and mutually beneficial result all round.”
SpliceGroup is a dedicated employer committed to the continuous learning and development of all staff.
